Welcome everyone to the March edition of "What's new at Tailwarden". Join us as we go over our updates, community highlights, and everything related to Tailwarden. In this edition, you'll learn about all the new feature launches for this month.

Product updates

Komiser is not “even more” cloud-agnostic. Thanks to the support of our community and contributors, we have expanded our offerings this month by adding support for new providers:

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP), one of the three major players in the cloud space, can now be used with Komiser.
  • Komiser now integrates with MongoDB Atlas, providing users with an even more comprehensive cloud management experience. With this integration, users can track their MongoDB clusters and uncover hidden costs.

Komiser now supports additional cloud services for existing cloud providers, including:

  • AWS: CloudWatch dashboards, EC2 Internet Gateways, Elastic IPs, IAM groups and policies, instance profiles, OIDC providers, EBS volumes, and ASG resources.
  • Azure: Tables, Data Boxes, SQL servers, queues, and application gateways.
  • Scaleway: Instances, Kubernetes, container registries, load balancers, and databases.

We have implemented Slack alerts at the views level to incentivize developers to be mindful of cost and cloud usage, and to bring accountability to cloud spending. Additionally, we have introduced the "Export CSV" feature, which allows users to download their inventory data for further analysis, such as determining whether those resources meet their security policies.

Slack alerts

Earlier this year, we announced the release of our brand-new version of Tailwarden. This month, we revamped the onboarding workflow to make it easier for new users to connect their cloud accounts and uncover insights about their infrastructure.

Additionally, we've added support for OVH, the European cloud leader. Users can now connect their OVH accounts, build their asset inventory, and uncover insights about their infrastructure.

We also shipped tons of other bug fixes and performance tuning. See the full changelog.

In the coming weeks, we will be focusing on:

  • Providing webhook support to Komiser.
  • Offering additional insights on cost, security, and compliance.
  • Expanding our support to include missing AWS and GCP services, as well as OpenCost.

Community news & updates:

We have achieved several significant milestones this month. Firstly, we now have over 400 members on our Discord server. Secondly, we hosted our first "Wardens Assembly" virtual workshop. These monthly events cover a variety of tech topics. The first event focused on building a Serverless gym app that sends a workout plan to your WhatsApp number using ChatGPT. If you missed the event, you can watch it here:

In addition, we hosted our 7th Tailwarden Community Call, which has become a monthly tradition for us. It was a great opportunity to share our milestones and challenges from the past weeks with our community.

In case you missed it, re-watch it here:

Komiser has rapidly grown in popularity this month, and we have received a significant amount of support from contributors who have helped shape this month's releases. Kudos to our community heroes of the month, Axit, Gitesh, Fotis, Avinesh, Annu, and Philip for their valuable contributions to Komiser.
